Southeast Asia is at the upper left, Australia at the lower left, and dozens of islands are shown in the Pacific Ocean. The term Oceania (Océanie in the title) is a collective name for the islands of the Central and South Pacific Ocean. Some writers and mapmakers include Australia and New Zealand in the term.

Published in Coronelli's Atlante Veneto , (Venice, 1690-1696). Illustrated in McLaughlin 104. Reference Tooley Mapping of America , p. 125, No. 58, and Tooley Mapping of Australia , p. 48, No. 350.

Shows California as an island with an irregular northern coastline. New Zealand and Australia are shown in partial outlines. Shows Pacific tracks of the Dutch navigator, Jacques le Maire, in 1615-1617, as well as "Stretto del Maire" at the tip of South America. A large “Terra de Iesso” lies in the north between California and Japan.

Published in A Missionary Voyage to the Southern Pacific Ocean, Performed in the Years 1796, 1797, 1798 in the Ship Duff commanded by Capt. James Wilson (London: T. Chapman, 1799). This was the first missionary voyage to the South Pacific.

Duff Islands is a small island group located 100 miles NE of Santa Cruz Island in the eastern Solomon Islands in the southwest Pacific Ocean. The islands’ nearest neighbors are the Reef Islands, 70 miles SW. The islands cover an area of about 5 square miles and have a population of less than 1000. The group consists of 11 islands: Elingi, Kaa, Lakao, Loreva, Lua, Tahua, Taumako, Te Ako, Tohua, Tuleki, and Ulaka. Taumako Island is the largest in the group. There are profile views of the larger islands.

Tongatapu (also spelled Tongataboo, as shown on this map) is the southernmost island cluster of the Kingdom of Tonga, in the southwestern Pacific Ocean, about 2,000 miles northeast of Sydney, Australia. It is located at longitude 175 degrees west of Greenwich. Tongatapu is the Kingdom of Tonga's largest island with over two-thirds of the country's population. The capital of Tonga, Nuku’alofa, is on the north coast of Tongatapu, and its locale is shown as Noogholifva on this map. North is to the bottom on this map. Numerous roads are shown. A large natural harbor is protected by reefs. However, there is a note: “Here Capt. Cook and Capt. Clarke’s Ships struck the Ground which proves the danger of coming in East of the N.E. Reef.”
